Summer Ends
Summer ends
Sunrays turn incandescent windows
Into yellow iridescent reflections
Of dried up trees outside
I look down at my feet
And the mats are still wet
From soap water I left behind
Before I left.
I’ve come home, two wooden doors
Door bells and windchimes
Leaves leave these days these trees
Before I come back to see
Spring sprouts from siblings running
Behind one another
Chased by
No one,
But me.
Summer ends.
And so does eternity.
